Question : INSTALLATION OF GROUND SENSORS

(a) whether the Government are contemplating to install ground sensors to check infiltration from the line of control and International border;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the time by which a decision is likely to be taken in this regard and the expenditure likely to be incurred thereon; and

(d) the names of the countries from which these sensors are likely to be procured?

(a) to (d): Unattended Ground Sensors are already being deployed by the Government along the Line of Control and International Border in Jammu and Kashmir to assist troops in detecting infiltration. The sensors have been deployed in considerable numbers. They are being procured indigenously.
