Question : Dilapidated Condition of NHs in Bihar

(a) whether all National Highways (NHs) passing through Bihar are in a dilapidated condition;

(b) if so, the steps taken by the Union Government for repair of all dilapidated National Highways (NHs) passing through the State;

(c) whether the Union Government has not made payment for the repair of national highways, carried out by the State Government of Bihar;

(d) if so, the details thereof; and

(e) the reasons for non-payment of outstanding amount by the Union Government?

(a) & (b) Most of the National Highways passing through the State of Bihar are maintained in traffic worthy condition through maintenance funds or through existing concessionaires/contractors.

(c) to (e) No sir, this Ministry has been regularly releasing funds for the maintenance and repair of National Highways on approved works in the State of Bihar.
