Question : THREAT TO VIPS



(a) whether the Government has received any report from the Intelligence Bureau (IB) with regard to possible attacks on some political leaders and VVIPs by terrorists including the Maoists;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government has taken any action in this regard; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (d): Yes Madam. Government receives threat inputs/assessment from Central Security Agencies regarding possible attacks by terrorists including Maoists on some political leaders and VVIPs.

Security arrangements for all such threatened leaders/VVIPs are reviewed and adequately strengthened in the light of specific threat inputs received from Central Security Agencies. Such inputs are also shared with State Governments/UT Administrations concerned for providing appropriate security to the threatened leaders/VVIPs.
