Question : Medical Facilities at Airports

(a) the details of the necessary medical facilities available at the airports for passengers at present;

(b) the details of the existing guidelines of the Government for the officials of airports to provide medical facilities at the airports;

(c) whether the Government proposes to provide necessary medical facilities for the passengers at airports on a mandatory basis and if so, the details thereof; and

(d) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (c): As per guidelines issued by International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), medical Inspection rooms/First Aid facilities are available at all airports where scheduled flights are operating. Apart from this, all medical centres at major airports are equipped with amenities such as beds, oxygen cylinders, ECG, suction apparatus etc.The medical inspection rooms are operated by MBBS doctors and paramedic staff. All critical and emergency cases are referred to nearest hospital / nursing home.;
