(a) whether the Government proposes to monitor the investments, utilization and management of Capital Expenditure by Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) on a monthly basis;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the manner in which the Government monitors the functioning of PSUs?

(a) to (c) With a view to promote infrastructure spending, the Government monitors the pace of expenditure and investment of the Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs) as per the physical and financial targets fixed by the administrative Ministries/ Departments for the CPSUs in the respective years.
The progress of performance of the CPSUs is generally reviewed by the administrative Ministries/ Departments with the officers of CPSUs through periodical meetings. Besides, the performance in respect of some CPSUs is also reviewed periodically by the Prime Minister’s Office and Finance Ministry.
