(c) & (d) BharatNet is being implemented in a phased manner for providing Broadband connectivity to approx. 2,50,000 Gram Panchayats in the country including thosein Sonepat in Haryana and Darbhanga in Bihar. In Sonepat (Haryana), all the 330 Gram Panchayats (GPs) have been made Service Ready. In Darbhanga (Bihar), 221 GPs including Block Headquarters (BHQs) have been made Service Ready out of total 349 GPs (including BHQ) in the District. The remaining GPs are being implemented in Phase-II of the project for which work is in progress.
The Department of Posts under various schemes have opened 1 Post Office Passport Sewa Kendra, 13 Aadhar Enrolment and Updation Centres, 1 branch and 178 Access Points of India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) in Sonepat District of Haryana and 8 Aadhar Enrolment and Updation Centres, 1 branch and 373 Access Points of IPPB in Darbhanga District of Bihar to provide citizen centric and banking services to the customers.
