Question : Appellate Tribunal for Foreign Exchange

(a) the number of appeals received and disposed off by the Appellate Tribunal for Foreign Exchange (ATFE) in the country during each of the last three years;

(b) the funds allocated and utilized for the functioning of ATFE during the said period, year-wise;

(c) whether the Government proposes to increase the number of benches of ATFE in view of the large number of pending cases; and

(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the other steps taken/being taken by the Government for expeditious disposal of pending cases in ATFE?

(a) : The number of appeals received and disposed off by the Appellate Tribunal for Foreign Exchange (ATFE) during each of the last three years are given below:-

(c) & (d): At present there is no proposal to increase the number of benches of ATFE. After appointments of Chairperson and two Members in the ATFE, the Tribunal has become fully functional and consequently the disposal rate of Appeals in the ATFE has also increased.
