Will the Minister of ELECTRONICS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY be pleased to state:-
(a) whether achievements have been made by Software Technology Park of India during the last three years in delivering its mandate of promoting export of software from India; and
(b) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?
(a): Yes, Sir.
(b): Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) was established and registered as an autonomous society (under the Societies Registration Act 1860) under Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (erstwhile Department of Electronics), Government of India on 5th June 1991 with an objective to implement Software Technology Park (STP) & Electronics Hard Technology Park (EHTP) Schemes and to promote the development and export of software and software services including Information Technology enabled services (ITeS). The country wide Exports from STPI registered IT/ ITeS units for the past years are as below:
