Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government is aware that 4605 women have undergone hysterectomy in Beed district of Maharashtra to work as sugarcane cutter continuously;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government has constituted a panel to probe this case;
(d) if so, the details thereof;
(e) whether the panel has submitted its report to the Government in this regard; and
(f) if so, the findings of the report of the panel?

(a) & (b): Survey of 99 private hospitals in Beed district has revealed that, in the past 3 years i.e. in 2016-17, 2017-18 and 18-19, 4605 hysterectomy operations have been performed.
(c) & (d): The state government has constituted a seven member committee on 26 June 2019 under the chairmanship of Dy.President of the legislative council of the state. The other members of the committee including 2 female MLAs from the state legislative council, Principal secretary, Public health department, Director Health Services, Prof and HOD OBGY BJ Medical college Pune and Representative from UNICEF.
(e) & (f): The committee has conducted two meetings with all stakeholders and civil society organisations. The committee has not submitted its report till now.
