a. whether the Government has observed National Ayurveda Day on 2 November, 2021;
b. if so, the details thereof along with the main theme of the Ayurveda Day;
c. the number of delegates who participated in the event;
d. the details of issues discussed on the occasion of National Ayurveda Day along with the outcome thereof; and
e. the other steps taken by the Government for promotion of Ayurveda in the country?

a. Yes.
b & c. The 6th Ayurveda day was celebrated on 02nd November, 2021 in a befitted manner across the country through State/ UT governments. The theme of the 6th Ayurveda day was Ayurveda for Poshan. Main event of the 6th Ayurveda day was held at National Institute of Ayurveda, Deemed to be University (De-novo category), Jaipur. It was a two days event, on 01.11.2021 a National Seminar on Ayurveda for Poshan was organized wherein approx 700 delegates participated. On 2nd November, 2021 Dhanvantari Pujan was held wherein approx 1500 delegates participated.
In the series of celebrations of 6th Ayurveda Day Ayur- udhyam a mega event was held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on 29.10.2021 wherein Incubation Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (AIIA- ICAINE), first incubation centre was launched to promote the start-ups in Ayurveda sector. A National Seminar and Ayurveda food expo was organized on 30.10.2012 at All India Institute of Ayurveda, New Delhi.
Webinars, Public lectures, Health camps, Radio talks and food expo etc. were also organized on the identified theme by various field offices.
d. 3 Technical Sessions were organized on Ayurveda for Poshamn during the National Seminar on 01.11.2021.
A short film on “You Are What You Eat: Ayurveda for Poshan”, a special manuscript website portal, Ayurveda Swasthya Samiksha- a handbook containing daily routines; Ayurveda for Poshan - A booklet; NIA nutri-cookies suitable for children and adults; digitized versions of three rare publications viz Charaka Samhita with Charaka-Nyasa commentary of Acharya Bhattar Harichandra, Charak-Panjika of Acharya Swamikumar; Charaka Samhita with Charaka Pradipika commentary written in the early 20th Century by Acharya Jyotish Chandra Saraswati and Chakradutta with Ratnaprabha of Nishchala Kar and Tattvachadrika were released on 02.11.2021.
e. The major steps taken to promote Ayurveda are as under:
i. Establishment of North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Homoeopathy, Shillong in 2016.
ii. Establishment of All India Institute of Ayurveda, New Delhi. It was dedicated to the Nation by Hon’ble Prime Minister on 17th October, 2017.
iii. Conferring the status of Deemed to be university to National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur. It was dedicated to the Nation by Hon’ble Prime Minister on 13th November, 2020.
iv. Conferring the status of Institute of National Importance to Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda, Jamnagar. It was dedicated to the nation by Hon’ble Prime Minister on 13th November, 2020.
v. Change of nomenclature and mandate of North Eastern Institute of Folk Medicine, Pasighat as North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Folk Medicine Research, Pasighat.
vi. Ministry has developed various schemes such as National Ayush Mission, Champion Services Sector Scheme for Medical Value Travel, Ayurswasthya and Information, Education & Communication (IEC) for promotion of Ayush systems including Ayurveda in the country.
vii. Ministry of Ayush has signed MoU with Ministry of Railway and Ministry of Defense for integration of Ayush under their health establishments. Ministry has also signed a MoU with Ministry of MSME for promotion of Ayush enterprises.
viii. A Strategic Policy and Facilitation Bureau (SPFB) has also been established in the Ministry in collaboration with Invest India to attract investment in Ayush sector.
ix. Ministry with the consultation of Department of Commerce has registered for Ayush Export Promotion Council (AEPC) to promote export of AYUSH products/ medicines as well as AYUSH services. Further, Ministry of Ayush has established AYUSH Service Export Cell in 2021 as a dedicated cell to give focused attention to the export of AYUSH Services across the globe.
x. Ministry also undertakes activities such as distribution of brochures to common people in English, Hindi and Regional languages on prevention of diseases and health promotion through Ayurveda, issues advisories for the prevention and management of diseases such as COVID-19, Chikungunya, Dengue, flu like illnesses and conducts webinars from time to time for promotion of Ayurveda in the country.
