(a): The Ministry is implementing various schemes/programmes of non-conventional energy sources for promotion and popularisation for meeting rural and urban energy needs of cooking, heating, lighting and electricity throughout the country including the Union Territory (UT) of Daman and Diu through biogas, improved chulhas, solar photovoltaic systems, solar water heating systems, biomass gasifier etc.
(b): The UT of Daman and Diu has been allocated a total amount of Rs.4,66,000 during last three years for popularisation and implementation of various programmes of non-conventional energy sources, especially in the rural areas.
