Question : Vacancies in Labour Courts and Tribunals

(a)whether some posts of presiding officers and judges are lying vacant in various Labour Courts and Tribunals in the country including North Eastern States;
(b)if so, the details thereof, State/UT-wise; and
(c)the time by which these posts are likely to be filled up along with the steps taken/being taken in this regard?

(a) & (b): As per provisions of Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, the Central Government has set up 22 Central Government Industrial Tribunal-cum-Labour Courts (CGIT-cum-LCs) in various states for resolution of industrial disputes arising in Central Sphere. The details of vacancies of Presiding Officers in the CGIT-cum-LCs/NITs is given at Annexure-I.
(c): The process for filling up the vacant posts of Presiding Officers has already been initiated.
