Auction of Coal Blocks
421. SHRI VISHNU DAYAL RAM:
Will the Minister of COAL be pleased to state:
(a) the number of coal blocks auctioned and allocated in Jharkhand under Coal Mines (Special Provisions) Act, 2015;
(b) the coal produced from these coal blocks till 31 January, 2016; and
(c) the total revenue earned from these coal blocks by the Government?

(a) & (b): 21 coal mines located in the State of Jharkhand have been auctioned/allotted under the provisions of the Coal Mines (Special Provisions) Act, 2015 and the Rules made thereunder. However, none of the coal mines has commenced production of coal as various clearances are under process. List of coal mines/blocks along with their successful allottee/bidder is as below.
(c): The estimated revenue which would accrue to the State of Jharkhand from the auction/allotment of above coal mines during the life of mine/lease period is Rs. 1,12,398 Crores. The total revenue earned so far from the coal mines allotted & auctioned in the state of Jharkhand is Rs. 458,10,61,334, out of which an amount of Rs. 453,31,90,720 has already been transferred to the State of Jharkhand.
