(a)&(b): Yes Sir,Green Power 2009, a conference on Renewable Energy was organized by Confederation of Indian
Industry (CII) on 18th and 19th June, 2009 at Chennai. The Conference had technical sessions on various
renewable energy technologies viz. solar, wind, biomass, biogas, bio-fuel, etc.It also focused on how
regulatory agencies and Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) can facilitate advancement of
renewable energy technologies in India.
(c) : The Government is promoting development of the renewable energy sector through a mix of fiscal and
financial incentives that include capital/interest subsidy, accelerated depreciation, nil/concessional
excise and customs duties.Further benefit under Section 80-1A of Income Tax Act 1961 is available to
undertakings set-up for the generation or generation and distribution of Renewable power in India.This apart,
preferential tariff for grid interactive renewable power is being given in most potential States.
