Question : Dropping of second dose COVID-19 vaccine

(a) whether the numbers of people have dropped out of taking second dose of COVID-19 vaccine in the country, if so, the details thereof, state/UT-wise along with the reasons therefor;
(b) whether the Government has prepared any plan to identify them and reach out to such people who did not take second dose of vaccine, if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government has identified the districts where less than 50% eligible population has been vaccinated against COVID-19, if so, the details thereof, State/district-wise;
(d) the steps taken by the Government to conduct special vaccination drive in those districts; and
(e) whether there is any proposal to fix responsibility on the district authorities where the vaccination rate is lower than national average and if so, the details thereof; and
(f) whether there are any repercussions on the health of the persons who have missed their second dose voluntarily and if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (f) As on 30th November 2021, a total of 12.5 Crore people are due for 2nd dose after completion of stipulated dosage interval. State/UT wise list is at Annexure-1. Government of India has launched ‘Har Ghar Dastak Abhiyaan’ from 3rd November 2021 wherein missed beneficiaries for 1st dose and due beneficiaries for 2nd dose are identified and vaccinated through house-to-house activity. This campaign is undertaken across all districts including those with 1st dose coverage of less than 50%.
As on 30th November 2021, a total of 29 Districts has vaccination coverage less than 50% for 1st dose of COVID-19 vaccine. State/UT wise list of districts is at Annexure 2.
The district-wise and CVC-wise plan for COVID-19 vaccination coverage is prepared by District Magistrate and District Immunization Officers in all districts irrespective of their coverage.
Persons who do not complete the COVID-19 vaccination schedule may not receive full protection conferred against COVID-19 by two doses of Covid-19 vaccine.
