Question : VACCINES FOR DANGEROUS DISEASES



(a) whether a vaccine has been developed to save the children from Pneumonia, Septicaemia, Meningitis and dangerous ear infection and to check the deaths of four to five lakh children on account of such diseases every year;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the measures being taken to make available the said vaccine for the treatment of poor children alongwith the provision to control its price;

(d) whether any international institution has proposed to provide vaccine for the treatment of above said diseases by taking nominal token money; and

(e) if so, the status of the said proposal?
