Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) IN THE MINISTRY OF PETROLEUM & NATURAL GAS (SHRI DHARMENDRA PRADHAN)
(a) to (c) A statement is laid on the Table of the House.
STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO PARTS (a) TO (c) OF THE LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. 118 BY SHRI A.T. NANA PATIL TO BE ANSWERED ON 25TH JULY 2016 REGARDING “LPG BOTTLING PLANTS ”
(a) OMC/State/UT-wise number of LPG bottling plants in the country as on 01.07.2016 is at Annexure.
(b) & (c) In order to ensure timely supply of LPG cylinders from bottling plants to LPG distributorships, OMCs are ensuring that sufficient bottling capacities are available at the bottling plants. The same is done by augmenting the facilities at existing bottling plants and constructing new bottling plants close to the potential demand centres.
Further, OMCs endeavour to meet the domestic demand of the LPG customers within 7 working days from the date of booking. However, delay in refill supplies may occur in the event of backlog due to non-availability of filled LPG cylinders with the distributors for unavoidable reasons, road breaches, floods, strikes, incidents of bandhs, shortage of bulk LPG, non-availability of trucks, etc. and in such situations bottling plants work on extended hours as well as on holidays to clear the backlog.
