(a) & (b): National Health Policy (NHP), 2017 has already been issued by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare after the approval by the Cabinet. The new Health Policy accords due importance to promote AYUSH systems of Health Care & various provisions have been envisaged to mainstream the potential of AYUSH. Wider access to AYUSH healthcare services by improving infrastructure & qualified AYUSH manpower, co-location of AYUSH services in existing allopathic health facilities, introduction of Yoga in school & workplaces, availability of standard AYUSH drugs are some of the provisions envisaged in the new Health Policy to promote AYUSH systems in the country. The policy lays emphasis on building research & public health skills for preventive & promotive healthcare through AYUSH systems.

(c ) & (d): Under Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National AYUSH Mission (NAM), there is provision of financial assistance for setting up of upto 50 bedded integrated AYUSH Hospitals and setting up of new AYUSH educational institutions including Unani Medical colleges in the States where it is not available in Government sector. The Central Government has approved setting up of 50 bedded integrated AYUSH hospitals including Unani to the States/UTs under NAM. The State/UT wise details of approved upto 50-bedded integrated AYUSH Hospitals including the State of Assam in furnished at Annexure. Further, Central Government has also approved 02 Educational Institution of Unani Colleges in the State of Haryana and Uttarakhand respectively.
(e): The Government is promoting AYUSH treatment system through various schemes/means viz. National AYUSH Mission (NAM), International Co-operation Scheme, promotion of research through five Research Councils, awareness generation through IEC activities, quality education through 10 National Institutes of various discipline of AYUSH, through standardizing AYUSH drugs, through development of pharmacopeia standards, Celebration of International Yoga Day, Promotional activities of Medicinal Plants etc.
