Question : TARGET UNDER GOLDEN QUADRILATERAL SCHEME



(a) whether the National Highways Authority of India would be able to achieve/ complete the targets set for the Eleventh Plan for completion of the roads under the Golden Quadrilateral scheme;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) if not, the reasons for the delay in completion of the road projects in different parts of the country including Andhra Pradesh; and

(d) the extent of four laning of National Highways completed by the NHAI in the State of Andhra Pradesh during each of the last three years and the current year?

(a) & (b): Yes Sir. 98.4% of the Golden Quadrilateral Scheme has been completed. The balance is targeted for substantial completion by Dec. 2010.

(c): Does not arise.

(d): Four laning of National Highways completed by the NHAI in the State of Andhra Pradesh during 2006-07, 2007-08, 2008-09 and 2009-10 (January, 2010) is 25.8 km, 110.41 km, 225.18 km and 290.8 km respectively.
