Question : INSTALLATION OF SOLAR ENERGY PLANTS



(a) number of solar energy plants being installed in Rajasthan;

(b) total expenditure incurred thereon so far;

(c) the time by which each of such plant is likely to be commissioned;

(d) whether the Government propose to install such solar energy plants in Barmer and Jaisalmer districts of Rajasthan during the next financial year; and

(e) if so, the details thereof ?

(a): The Government of India has approved establishment of a 140 MW Integrated Solar Combined Cycle (ISCC) Power Project at village Mathania, Jodhpur, Rajasthan, as a centrally-assisted project, to be implemented by Rajasthan State Power Corporation Ltd. (RSPCL). The project will comprise a 35 MW solar thermal power plant based on parabolic trough collectors, integrated with combined cycle power plant of 105 MW capacity.

(b): The completed cost of the power plant has been estimated as Rs. 872 crore.

(c): The power plant is expected to be completed in three years after financial closure and award of the contract.
