Question : Work under CSR

(a) whether the corporate firms have acted in the compliance with the Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) norm stipulated under the Companies Act, if so, the details thereof;
(b) the list of the corporate houses/ firms/companies which are under the purview of CSR; and
(c) the details of the activities undertaken by the corporate firms to incur CSR expenditure during each of the last three years in the country, State-wise including Uttar Pradesh?

(a) to (c): Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013 (Act) mandates every company having net worth of Rs. 500 crore or more, or turnover of Rs. 1000 crore or more, or net profit of Rs. 5 crore or more during the immediately preceding financial year, to spend at least two per cent of the average net profits of the company made during the three immediately preceding financial years, towards Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as per CSR Policy of the company. The activities undertaken towards CSR should relate to areas or subjects specified in Schedule VII of the Act. CSR is a board driven process and the entire CSR architecture is disclosure based. CSR mandated companies are required to file details of CSR spend annually in MCA 21 registry. All data reported in MCA21 registry by companies on CSR including Uttar Pradesh is available on National CSR Data Portal at www.csr.gov.in. The details of the CSR funds spent by Companies throughout India including Uttar Pradesh State/UT-wise and devolvement sector –wise during the financial years 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18 are at annexure I &II respectively.
