(a) the number of defence personnel who lost their lives due to insurgency, terrorism and cross border firing from across the border during each of the last three years and the current year;
(b) whether the Government has analysed the reasons for casualties suffered by the defence personnel and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;
(c) whether compensation has been paid to the families of the deceased soldiers and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;
(d) the number of times the Government has invited requests for proposals after the Kargil war in order to equip the defence personnel to face the growing challenges of terrorism and cross border firing along with the number of times the such requests have been cancelled / withdrawn; and
(e) the steps taken by the Government to procure essential defence equipment and fully equip defence personnel to meet threats posed from infiltrators, insurgents and terrorists?
