Question : PMBJP Cetres


Will the Minister of CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS be pleased to state:

(a) whether some Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) Centres are functioning in Andhra Pradesh;
(b) if so, the details thereof, district-wise;
(c) whether the Government has identified any places and has any plan of opening new PMBJP centres in the state; and
(d) if so, the details of efforts being made to set up the said centres at the earliest?

(a) & (b) As on 28.11.2021, 183 Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras (PMBJKs) are functional in the State of Andhra Pradesh. All districts of the State have been covered under Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP). District-wise list of PMBJKs functioning in the State is enclosed as Annexure.
(c) & (d) The Government has set a target to open 10,500 Kendras by March 2025, across the country. Letters at various levels are sent regularly by the Department of Pharmaceuticals/ Pharmaceuticals & Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI), the implementing agency of the Scheme to the State Governments, including the State of Andhra Pradesh for expediting opening of PMBJKs in government premises. PMBI also regularly organizes workshops and seminars to encourage private entrepreneurs/NGOs/Civil Societies and unemployed pharmacists for opening of PMBJKs.
