Question : Institutional Deliveries

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:
(a) whether institutional deliveries have decreased in the country since the lockdown was imposed, if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether the Government maintains records of data indicating the number of antenatal check-ups conducted since March, 2020 as a part of Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA);
(c) if so, the details thereof, and if not, the reasons therefor; and
(d) the State/UT-wise number of designated healthcare facilities established and currently functional in rural districts under PMSMA, particularly in Odisha?

(a) There has been a drop of 23.9% in institutional delivery in the country from April to June’20 as compared to the same period last year as per the Health Management Information System (HMIS), in the light of COVID-19 pandemic.
(b) & (c) Yes, As per PMSMA Portal, a total of 10,96,048 antenatal checkups have been conducted since March’2020 to Aug’2020
(d) the details of State/UT-wise number of designated healthcare facilities established and functional including in Odisha is given in “Annexure”
