Question : STAFF IN PLANNING COMMISSION



(a) the strength of regular staff, grade-wise employed in May 2011 in the Ministry of Planning and the Planning Commission;

(b) the number of temporary staff employed during May 2011 in the Ministry of Planning and the Planning Commission;

(c) number of Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs) and other Backward Classes (OBCs) in aforesaid employment;

(d) whether provisions of reservation has been applied in aforesaid employment;

(e) whether the Government have received any representation for providing reservation in employment of temporary posts as well;

(f) if so, the details thereof; and

(g) the action taken/being taken by the Government in this regard?

(a): The strength of regular staff, grade-wise employed in May 2011 in the Planning Commission is as under:

(b): During the month of May, 2011, no temporary staff (daily wage workers) was employed. However, the strength of temporary staff (daily wage workers) in the Planning Commission as on 31st May, 2011 is 34.

(c): The number of Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) in regular employment and temporary staff (daily wage workers) is as follows:-

(d): The total staff strength of Planning Commission comprises employees belonging to various cadres and the implementation of Government of India’s Reservation Policy is ensured by the respective cadre controlling authority based on overall strength of their cadres. In so far as temporary employment is concerned, there is no provision of reservation in employment of daily wage workers.
