(a) whether the Government has any plan to promote Satra Nagari Barpeta;
(b) whether the Government proposes to consider the demand to include Barpeta Satra in Heritage Circuit under Swadesh Darshan Scheme;
(c) if so, the time by which it is likely to be done; and
(d) if not, the reason therefor?

(a) to (d): The Ministry of Tourism undertakes various promotional activities in the international and domestic markets to promote tourism destinations and products of the country in a holistic manner. This includes release of media campaigns under ‘Incredible India’ brand-line, promotional events, social media promotions etc. The Ministry of Tourism is promoting Barpeta through its website www.incredibleindia.org.
The Ministry of Tourism has now revamped its Swadesh Darshan scheme as Swadesh Darshan 2.0 (SD2.0) in order to develop sustainable and responsible destinations with tourist & destination centric approach and has shared the guidelines for SD2.0 scheme.
The Ministry of Tourism under its scheme of ‘Swadesh Darshan’ provides financial assistance to State Governments/Union Territory (UT) Administrations/Central Agencies etc. for development of tourism infrastructure in the country. The projects under this scheme are sanctioned subject to submission of suitable Detailed Project Reports (DPR) by the State Governments, adherence to scheme guidelines and utilization of funds released earlier etc.
The State Government of Assam has not submitted any proposal for tourism infrastructure development of Barpeta Satra under the revised guidelines of SD2.0 scheme.
