(a) whether the Government propose to provide more powers to the National Highways Authority of India to extend its jurisdiction over the entire National Highway Network, Directorate of Roads and the State PWDs;

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) the funds allocated to National Highways Authority of India during last financial year and utilisation thereof, sector-wise?

(c)An amount of Rs. 264.17 crores was allocated to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for investment and Externally Aided Projects during the last financial year. Utilisation of funds during last year, sectorwise, is as under:-


(i) Externally Aided Projects - Rs. 246.65 crores

(ii) Build Operate & Transfer Schemes - Rs. 1.39 crores

(iii)Moradabad Toll Road Company - Rs. 22.50 crores

(iv) Other Works Rs. 65.00 crores - Total: Rs. 335.54 crores
