STATEMENT
STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. 55 (15TH POSITION) FOR 04.02.2021 REGARDING SOLAR PARKS
(a)&(b) The details of solar parks sanctioned alongwith the Central Financial Assistance released therefor, in North-Eastern States and also in Uttar Pradesh under the Scheme for Development of Solar Parks and Ultra Mega Power Projects are given at Annexure-I. No Solar Park has been sanctioned in Tripura for want of proposal from the State Government.
(c) and (d) No new hydro projects are under consideration of the Government in the States of Uttar Pradesh and Tripura.
(e) The Government has undertaken several measures for harnessing and utilizing the solar energy in the country including North-Eastern States and Uttar Pradesh. These include:
• permitting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) up to 100 percent under the automatic route,
• waiver of Inter State Transmission System (ISTS) charges and losses for inter-state sale of
solar and wind power for projects to be commissioned by 30th June 2023,
• declaration of trajectory for Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO) up to the year 2022,
• setting up of Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Parks to provide land and transmission on plug
and play basis,
• Schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-
KUSUM), Solar Rooftop Phase II, 12000 MW CPSU Scheme Phase II, Solar Park Scheme
etc.,
• laying of new transmission lines and creating new sub-station capacity under the Green
Energy Corridor Scheme for evacuation of renewable power,
• notification of standards for deployment of solar photovoltaic system/devises,
• setting up of Project Development Cell for attracting and facilitating investments,
• Standard Bidding Guidelines for tariff based competitive bidding process for procurement
of Power from Grid Connected Solar PV and Wind Projects, wherein adequate provisions
have been made to protect Power Purchase Agreements.
• Government has issued orders that power shall be dispatched against Letter of Credit (LC)
or advance payment to ensure timely payment by Distribution Licensees to RE generators.
