(a) whether the Government has evaluated the agricultural education in the country in
view of increasing demands of foodgrains in the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government proposes to set up agricultural colleges/research centres
in backward areas including Madhya Pradesh and also imparting more technical education in the country; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) Yes, Madam.
(b) Agricultural Education in the country is evaluated regularly in the annual meetings
of the Vice Chancellors of agricultural universities, through the accreditation process,
the meetings of Deans of agricultural universities and the consultations with stakeholders.
(c) Agricultural including agricultural education being a state subject, setting up of
agricultural colleges in the states is done by the respective state governments.
(d) Considering specific requirements, the Central government has proposed setting up a
Central Agricultural University in Bundelkhand which will have jurisdiction over six districts
of Madhya Pradesh also.
