(a) to (c) On the basis of the directions issued by the Ministry, the All India Council for
Technical Education (AICTE) has formed a committee headed by Prof. Sanjay Govind Dhande,
former Director of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur to frame guidelines
for Technical Education in Distance mode. The committee has submitted an interim report
on technical education distance mode, which was placed in the 79th Executive Committee
Meeting of the AICTE held in December, 2012. The Executive Committee has deliberated on
the interim report. The Dhande Committee is going to meet further on 22.3.2013 for the
course of action to be finalized.
