Question : AYUSH Hospital

Will the Minister of AYURVEDA, YOGA AND NATUROPATHY, UNANI, SIDDHA AND HOMOEOPATHY (AYUSH) be pleased to state:

(a) whether the performance of AYUSH hospitals has been assessed by the Government;

(b) if so, the details and the outcome thereof;

(c) whether various hospitals are not functioning properly due to the shortage of funds; and

(d) if so, the details thereof and the steps taken/proposed to be taken by the Government for proper allocation of funds to these hospitals?

(a) & (b): Health is a State subject. Therefore, assessment of performance of these hospitals comes under the purview of respective State/UT Governments.
(c) & (d): Health is a State subject. Functioning of Hospitals comes under the purview of State/UT Government. However, under Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National AYUSH Mission (NAM), there is provision of financial assistance for upgrading AYUSH Hospitals and setting up of upto 50 bedded integrated AYUSH hospitals. The State/UT Governments are eligible to submit their proposal through the State Annual Action Plan (SAAP) as per the guidelines of the scheme. Further, the status of grant-in-aid provided under the components of upgradation of AYUSH Hospitals and setting up of upto 50 bedded integrated AYUSH hospitals during 2018-19 and 2019-20 as on date is furnished at Annexure I & Annexure II respectively.
