(a) whether the Government has received proposals from various States to raise I.R. Battalion in their respective State;
(b) if so, the details thereof and the total number of such proposals received, Statewise including Rajasthan and Punjab; and
(c) the time by which such proposals are likely to be approved?

(a) & (b): Till date Government has sanctioned 170 IR Battalions to various States/UTs. Further Government has received 16 proposals from States/UTs to raise 44 additional IR Battalions as detailed below:
