Question : Relief Package to MSME Sector

(a) whether the Government proposes to give a relief package to the workers who have lost or are on the verge of losing their jobs of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises sector in Washim Yavatmal and Ramtek Parliamentary Constituencies of Maharashtra,;

(b) if so, the details thereof and if not the reasons therefor;

(c) the number of micro, small and medium enterprises companies that have been closed and declared insolvent during the last five years and the current year, State-wise;

(d) whether the Government is formulating any scheme to prevent the loss of jobs in future due to the closure of small companies in this sector and if so, the details thereof; and

(e) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (e): As MSMEs function in both formal and informal sectors, data regarding temporary and permanent closure of MSMEs and insolvency are not maintained by the Government of India in the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. The Government of India has taken various steps for generating employment in the country. The Aatmanirbhar Bharat package consists of various long term schemes/programmes/policies for making the country self-reliant and to create employment opportunities. The various schemes being implemented by the Government for employment generation are (i) Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY); (ii) Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP); (iii) Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan (GKRA); (iv) Aatmanirbhar Bharat Rojgar Yojana (ABRY); (v) Prime Minister Street Vendor’s Atma Nirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) Scheme; etc.
