Will the Minister of CULTUREbe pleased to state:

(a) whether heritage sites/forts in the country are being given to private sectors for their renovation and maintenance under Adopt a Monument Scheme.
(b) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor along with the extent to which this scheme has been successful;
(c) whether the Government is considering to include more archaeological buildings under this scheme; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) No, Madam. There is no such scheme called “Adopt a Monument” under which heritage sites/forts in the country are being given to private sectors for their renovation and maintenance. However, in some cases private corporate bodies have been permitted to develop some facilities in monuments under the strict supervision and technical guidance of ASI.
