Question : Supply of Drinking Water

(a) the details of ongoing schemes to supply clean drinking water in scheduled castes and scheduled tribes habitations of the country;
(b) the percentage of work completed in regard to the ongoing projects under the said schemes along with the time likely to be taken to complete the said projects; (c) the amount allocated/released and utilized under drinking water schemes during the last three years and the current year, State-wise; and
(d) the number of villages in Pindwara region of Rajasthan where drinking water is made available under the said schemes?

(a) & (b) Rural drinking water supply is a state subject. However this Ministry assists the States in their efforts for improving coverage of Piped Water Supply in rural areas through National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP). States are empowered to plan, design, implement and execute drinking water supply schemes in rural areas. As per information reported by States on Integrated Management Information System (IMIS) of the Ministry, State-wise details of number of schemes and percentage of completion of schemes at various stage in SC and ST dominated areas is at Annexure- I & II respectively.

(c) State-wise details of funds allocated, released and utilized under National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP) during last three years are at Annexure-III.

(d) As reported by State Government of Rajasthan, there are 107 main habitations (villages) and 20 other habitations in the Pindwara block in the district of Sirohi.
