(a) & (b): The 15th National Level Meeting at Home Secre4tary Level between India and Myanmar was held from the 19th to 21st January, 2010 at Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar. At his meeting, various issues of mutual concern including those relating to security, drug trafficking and border management were discussed. Outstanding issues relating to Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty on Criminal matters between India and Myanmar and issues relating to training of police officers of Myanmar in India were also discussed at the meeting. After discussions, it was agreed to strengthen the intelligence sharing mechanism between the two countries on the activities of insurgent groups and arms smugglers operating along the India-Myanmar border. Government of Union of Myanmar have also shared with India the name and contact details of their “Nodal Point” for sharing of information on regular and continuous basis with his counterpart in India.
