(a) : The division-wise data is not maintained. The amount spent for doubling of railway lines falling partly / fully in Kerala during last three years is as under:

1998-1999	138.28 Crs
1999-2000	197.43 Crs
2000-2001	158.95 Crs


(b): The works sanctioned are Mangalore-Calicut, Calicut-Shoranur and Ernakulam-Mulanturutti. No target date has yet been fixed. The works are being progressed as per availability of resources.

Birur-Shimoga BG CST 9 Sleepers- 6,96,000 Two cases are pending in courts at (various 3000 nos. locations) Bangalore and Shimoga. Disciplinary action initiated against erring officials.
Western Jaipur-Rewari Rails-12 MT 1,20,0000 There were 13 cases of theft. All the material was recovered except 263 Tie bars costing Rs. 7,580/- only. This amount has been waived off. No. staff considered responsible. Swamimadhopur- ST/CST9 sleepers - 3,15,750 Phulera 2238 nos. Phulera- Tie Bars – 263 7580 Marwar nos.
