Question : Implementation of SAGY

(a) whether the Government is aware that the lack of funds has badly affected the implementation of projects under Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY);

(b) if so, the details thereof and the response of the Government thereto;

(c) whether the Government will consider for providing central assistance for successful implementation of the scheme;

(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; and

(e) the total number of villages adopted and developed under this scheme as on date, Constituency-wise?

(a) to (d) : Under the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana framework, the development of Gram Panchayats has been envisaged through the convergence and implementation of existing Government Schemes and Programmes under the administrative control of respective Ministries without allocation of additional funds. Different Central Ministries/ Departments have made changes in 21 of their Programme/ Scheme guidelines to enable priority for SAGY Gram Panchayats. As per data uploaded by States/UTs on the SAGY MIS, 18334 projects under Village Development Plans are completed and 6759 projects are in progress as on 28th July 2017.

(e) : The constituency-wise Gram Panchayats adopted by Hon’ble Members of Lok Sabha and State/UT-wise Gram Panchayats adopted by Hon’ble Members of Rajya Sabha are furnished in Annexure-I and Annexure-II respectively.
