(a): As per the Annual Survey of Industries (Factory Sector),
1997-98, the average monthly wages/emoluments to a worker and an
employee come to Rs.3458/- and Rs.4331/-, respectively.
(b): As per the Working Family Income & Expenditure Survey
for Industrial Workers for the year 1981-82 ( latest available ),
the percentage of total consumption expenditure for various items
is as under:-
1. Food 57.00% 2. Clothing 8.54% 3. Housing 8.67% 4. Education 3.14% 5. Health 2.59% ( medical care)
