(a) whether the Government has any proposal to provide independent status to Palakkad
Unit of Instrumentation Limited;
(b) if so, the details and the present status thereof and the time frame set for the same;
(c) whether the Government propose to implement salary revision in Instrumentation Limited
along with independent status; and
(d) if so, the details thereof and its current implementation status?

(a)& (b): No, Madam. However, various measures for restructuring of the Instrumentation
Limited have been considered. One of the options considered delinking of the Palakkad
Unit from the Instrumentation Limited, Kota. The Company, on 15/1/2014, published a tender
inviting Expression of Interest for carrying out a feasibility study on creation of the
Palakkad Unit as an independent entity.
(c) & (d): Salary revision is based on the yardstick laid down in the guidelines issued by
Department of Public Enterprises and is not linked to delinking or otherwise of Units of a PSE.
