Question : . FOUR LANING OF HIGHWAYS IN JAMMU



(a) whether the Government proposes to convert Jammu-Akhnoor-Rajauri-Poonch National Highways into four lane;

(b) if so, whether the survey work of the said project has been conducted in this regard;

(c) if so, the details thereof; and

(d) the time by which work on the said project is likely to be started?

THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS (SHRI KRISHANPAL GURJAR)

(a) to (d) :Jammu-Akhnoor-Rajouri-Poonch road has recently been declared as National Highway (NH) No. 144 A. This NH originates from its junction with NH-44 near Jammu connecting Akhnoor, Naushera, Rajouri and terminating at Poonch. Entrustment of this NH would be done after getting No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Government of Jammu & Kashmir, which is still awaited. After entrustment of this NH, necessary action for its development shall be taken up depending upon inter-se- priority and availability of funds.
