Question : Amaravati as Smart City

(a) whether Amaravati in Andhra Pradesh has been declared as a Smart City, if so, the details of each of the projects proposed under Smart Cities Mission (SCM) for Amaravati city;

(b) whether work orders for the same have been issued and if so, the details thereof including the status of each of the works along with the time by which it is likely to be completed; and

(c) whether it is true that not even a single work has been completed in Amaravati and if so, the reasons therefor along with the efforts being made to complete proposed projects in Amaravati?

STATEMENT

STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY OF PARTS (a) to (c) OF THE LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. *74 FOR ANSWER ON 06.02.2020 REGARDING “AMARAVATI AS SMART CITY”.

(a) to (c) Amaravati Smart City was selected in Round-3 of the Smart Cities Challenge in June, 2017. Amaravati Smart City has proposed 20 projects amounting to Rs. 2046 crore and work orders have been issued in all the projects. The Smart Cities are expected to complete their projects within 5 years from the date of selection. The details of projects of Amaravati Smart City is given in Annexure-I.
