Question : CAMPA Funds

a) the total amount of funds allocated by Union Government to the State Government of Chhattisgarh from CAMPA funds during each of the last three years along with the nature of work completed as a result thereof;
b) whether there is any provision of undertaking any construction work through the utilization of CAMPA funds and if so, the details thereof;
c) the details of works undertaken and the amount of funds utilised during the said period;
d) the total expenditure incurred on plantation during the said period in the forest divisions of Kabirdham and Rajnandgaon districts of the State of Chhattisgarh;
e) whether there is any monitoring committee to supervise the afforestation work;
f) if so, the names of the members along with the details of the report of the committee thereof?

(a) The total amount of compensatory afforestation funds allocated to the State of Chhattisgarh from National Compensatory Afforestation Management and Planning Authority (National CAMPA or National Authority) or its predecessor, the Ad-hoc CAMPA year wise is as under:
2017-18 : ?0.00 Crore.
2018-19 : ?0.00Crore.
2019-20 : ?5791.70 Crore.
Year-wise completed Work Report is attached at Annexure-I
(b) Yes sir, as per Rule 5(3) of Compensatory Afforestation Fund (CAF), Rules 2018 not more than twenty per cent of the monies received towards net present value (NPV) deposited in the State Fund shall be inter alia utilized for strengthening of the forest and wildlife related infrastructure.
(c) The details of works undertaken and amount of funds utilized during 2017-18 to 2019-20 are attached at Annexure-II

(d) The total expenditure incurred on plantation during year 2017-18 to 2019-20 in the forest divisions of Kabirdham and Rajnandgaon districts of the State of Chhattisgarh is attached at Annexure-III.

(e)& (f) As per the provision of the CAF Act, 2016 a Monitoring Group consisting of Director General, Forest Survey of India, Dehradun as the ex-officio member, and following nominated expert members have been constituted by the Ministry:
1. Sh. Arun Kumar Bansal, IFS (Retd.)
2. Sh. A.K. Srivastava, IFS (Retd.)
3. Dr. Ajay Singh Rajawat, Scientist Eng./G Group Director Space Application Centre (SAC), ISRO, Ahmedabad (Gujarat).
