(a) whether the Government has any plan to increase plantation of various species of trees on the vacant land and along the sides of National Highways in the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof including the species of trees proposed to be planted;
(c) whether the Government has any mechanism to prevent indiscriminate cutting of trees, ensuring plantation of trees in place of those trees cut down and monitoring the growth of the saplings especially in the urban areas and if so, the details thereof;
(d) the achievement made so far in this regard; and
(e) the details of funds allocated/released and utilized on such plantation activities during each of the last three years and the current year along with the agencies/ organizations involved therein?
