(a) the impact of National Institute of Fashion Technology in fostering India`s apparel export growth;
(b) whether any study has been conducted by the Government in this regard;
(c) if so, the findings of the study; and
(d) if not, the time by which the Government propose to commission a study in this regard?

(a) to (d) The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) assists the apparel / fashion industry in providing necessary supervisory/managerial man power and in adding value to the garments thus enabling the apparel industry to be competitive on a global plane. Over the years, NIFT has created a learning environment that encourages innovation, creativity and excellence and curricula of the NIFT have been developed to cater to the needs of the apparel/fashion industry.
The feed back received from time to time from the apparel / fashion industry has established that NIFT has made significant contribution to apparel export growth through its endeavours. No need therefore has been felt to conduct any specific study by Government in this regard.
