Answer given by the minister

ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND
FAMILY WELFARE
(ANUPRIYA PATEL)
(a) & (b) Public Health being a State subject, the primary responsibility to provide affordable health care services to the people including minorities lies with State/UT Governments. However, under the National Health Mission (NHM), support is provided to States/UTs to strengthen their health systems for provision of equitable, affordable healthcare to all its citizens particularly the poor and vulnerable population including minorities based on requirements posed by the States in their Programme Implementation Plans. Under NHM there is no separate scheme for minorities.

(c): The state-wise release and expenditure under NHM including Gujarat and Jharkhand for financial years 2013-14 to 2015-16 is placed as Annexure.
