Question : National Rail Plan

(a) whether the Government has issued a draft National Rail Plan recently;
(b) if so, the details thereof and progress made in this regard;
(c) the budget allocated to the plan to make the Railways future ready;
(d) whether the Government seeks to enhance the role of private sector more in the Railways;
(e) if so, the details thereof; and
(f) the project-wise details of the railway-related projects funded for the district of Rajsamand in the last three years and the details thereof?

STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO PARTS (a) TO (f) OF UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 434 BY MS. DIYA KUMARI, SHRI P.V. MIDHUN REDDY, SHRI KOMATI REDDY VENKAT REDDY, SHRI POCHA BRAHMANANDA REDDY AND DR. BEESETTI VENKATA SATYAVATHI TO BE ANSWERED IN LOK SABHA ON 03.02.2021 REGARDING NATIONAL RAIL PLAN


(a): Yes, Sir. The Government has issued the Draft Final Report of the National Rail Plan and the same is available on the official web site of Ministry of Railways.
(b) to (e): National Rail Plan aims at providing a long term perspective planning for augmenting the Railway Network. Suggestions and inputs from all stakeholders including Ministries, departments, sectors, customers etc. are being incorporated in the Plan. All possible financial models including Public Private Partnership model are being considered to achieve the objectives of National Rail Plan
(f): Nathdwara - Nathdwara Town new rail line project of length 10.8 Kms costing Rs. 166.33 Crore has been taken up in the district of Rajsamand.
