(a) to (c) As per Allocation of Business Rules, 1961, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy is the nodal Ministry
for formulation of National Policy on Bio-fuels. They have drafted the ‘National Bio- fuel Policy’ which outlines the
strategy to achieve energy security through sustainable production, conversion and application of bio-fuels as these
are major renewable energy source and are significantly more environmental friendly vis-a-vis petroleum products,
which is awaiting the approval of competent authorities.
