(a) whether the Air India had withheld payment of salaries to its employees for the month of March 2010;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(d) the steps taken by the Government to avoid recurrence of this practice and ensure regular payment of salaries to the employees of Air India?

(a), (b), (c) and (d): No, Madam. The salary for the month of March, 2010 was paid to the employees of Air India on 7.4.2010. The above postponement was necessitated due to committed March year end payments to Oil Companies/Airports Authority of India/Foreign and Indian Vendors/repayment of loans and interest obligations/Bank loan rollovers. Government is continuously monitoring the financial position and restructuring plan of Air India.
