(a) & (b) The various types of pollution abatement schemes taken up to clean Ganga are categorized into ‘entry level activities’; ‘medium term activities’; and ‘long term activities’. There are 273 projects under Namami Gange Programme and are under different stages of implementation. All the projects are planned for completion by 2020. The status of the projects as on 30th September 2016 is given under Annexure-1.

(d) The expenditure incurred during 2014-15 and 2016-17 (upto 10.11.2016) is Rs.3,585.90 crores.
(e) Pollution abatement schemes for rivers other than Ganga Basin is handled by the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change through its National River Conservation Directorate (NRCD) Programmes.
